The terrain is created around the camera with a certain threshold, so that it is only recalculated when camera is moved further. On a single visible block a maximum of user-defined textures (here 8) is allowed to be visible on 4 layers. The ground layer does not use neighboorhood lookup, the others will, to join areas of same tiletype. A total of 255 tiles can be defined. The terrain allows customization in its size and thresholds for recalc. Currently ODE-collision is not yet supported but will come soon. You can also place decals on the surface.
